Prolog information
Use this procedure to configure the virtual machine automatic startup settings using vSphere.
When a vSphere ESXi host restarts after a power failure, the virtual machines that are deployed on the host do not start automatically. You must configure the virtual machines to start automatically.
In high availability (HA) clusters, the VMware HA software overlooks the startup selections.
Before you begin
  • Get appropriate permissions from the system administrator to configure the automatic startup settings.
  • Ensure Autostart is enabled for the virtual machine.
  1. On your web browser, type the host IP address to access the VMware Host Client.
  2. On the Welcome page, click Open the VMware Host Client.
  3. Type your Username and Password, and click Log in.
  4. On the VMware ESXI home page, in the navigation pane under Navigator, click Virtual Machines.
    STEP RESULT:
The web client displays a list of available virtual machines in the left panel.
  5. Click a virtual machine, and then click the Actions tab.
  6. Hover on the Autostart option, and click Increase priority.
  7. Click Save and wait until the virtual machine finishes the configuration procedure.
