Use this procedure to migrate from AMS 8.x deployed on ASP 120 to AMS 10.x deployed on ASP 130.
Before you begin
  • Create Avaya Aura® MS backups of the current system. Configuration and application data backups of the current installation are required to preserve the data through the upgrade process and if a rollback is required.
  • Ensure that you have saved the Avaya Aura® MS backups away from the server in a safe location.
  • To migrate a server that is a member of a cluster, ensure that you perform this task as part of one of the cluster upgrade procedures before continuing. Ensure that you start at the correct step in the following procedure, as specified by the cluster upgrade procedure.
  1. Deploy a new AMS 10.x virtual appliance on ASP 130 using procedures described in the chapter, Deploying in the VMware® virtualized environment.
  2. Migrate 8.x data using task Upgrading data manually from Release 8.0.x to a newly deployed Avaya Aura MS appliance instance.
