Migrating servers

Last Updated : Jun 08, 2018 |

Avaya no longer supports the S8510, S8800, S8300D, R610, and DL360 G7 servers. However, the servers can still be used in the virtualized configuration if the servers have the resources to deploy and run the OVA.

The following procedure describes the high-level steps for migrating the S8510, S8800, S8300D, R610, and DL360 G7 servers to the R2 Common servers.

  1. To access Solution Deployment Manager, log on to the System Manager user interface and navigate  to Services> Solution Deployment Manager

  2. Perform a backup using the Solution Deployment Manager.

  3. Set Session Manager in maintenance mode.

  4. Turn off the server that you are migrating.

  5. Replace the existing server with the new server.

  6. Install VMware ESXi on the server.

  7. Using the Solution Deployment Manager, deploy a new Session Manager OVA.

  8. Using the Software Deployment Manager, restore the backup that you created in Step 2.

  9. Test the new Session Manager server.

  10. Change the service state of the Session Manager server to Accept new service.
