Configuring NDI settings

Network Device Interface (NDI) is a video connectivity standard based on which multimedia systems can identify one another and communicate using the IP protocol. With NDI, you can encode, transmit, receive high-quality, low latency video and audio, and exchange metadata in real time. NDI offers a range of compression options to address different use cases, including full NDI. You can obtain NDI tools from the NDI official website.
Before you begin
Ensure you have purchased an NDI HX license from the NDI official website and have a license key. You need a separate NDI HX license for each camera.
  1. In the web interface side pane, click NDI® Config.
  2. On the NDI® Settings page, for the Full NDI® setting, select one of the following options:
    • On: To enable full NDI compression functionality.
      Full NDI is the original NDI compression option that provides full-bandwidth video transmission without data loss.
    • Off: To disable full NDI.
  3. In the Key field, type the NDI HX license key.
  4. In the NDI® Local Device Channel field, type the name of the NDI device channel.
  5. In the NDI® Receive Group field, type the name of the group that can receive the device channel.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    With NDI Access Manager, you can distribute your NDI channels into groups, select the groups that are available to your device and the groups that can receive your NDI channels.
  6. From the Enable NDI® Discovery Server list, select one of the following options:
    • On: To enable NDI Discovery Server mode.
    • Off: To disable NDI Discovery Server mode.
  7. If you enabled NDI Discovery Server mode, in the NDI® Discovery Server field, type the server IP address.
  8. From the Enable NDI® Multicast Server list, select one of the following options:
    • On: To enable NDI multicasting.
    • Off: To disable NDI multicasting.
  9. If you enabled NDI multicasting, in the NDI® Multicast Address field, type the multicast server IP address.
  10. If you enabled NDI multicasting, in the NDI® Multicast Mask field, type the multicast mask address.
  11. If you enabled NDI multicasting, in the NDI® Multicast TTL field, type a multicast Time to Live (TTL) value.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Only multicast packets with a TTL greater than the threshold of the interface are forwarded.
  12. Click Submit.
