Configuring noise reduction

2D Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) is a form of temporal noise reduction which analyzes every pixel in the frame sequentially and looks for inconsistent pixels to repair them. You can use 2D DNR for basic noise reduction in low-resolution static video.
3D Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) is based on spacial noise reduction which compares the pixels in each frame individually and then compares these frames to each other. You can use 3D DNR for noise reduction in high-resolution video with motion and in low lighting conditions.
  1. In the web interface side pane, click Image.
  2. Click the Noise Reduction tab.
  3. For the NR-2D Mode setting, select one of the following options:
    • Auto: The camera automatically selects the 2D noise reduction level.
    • Manual: You can manually select the 2D noise reduction level.
  4. If you selected Manual mode, use the NR-2D slider to select the level of 2D noise reduction.
  5. For the NR-3D Mode setting, select one of the following options:
    • Auto: The camera automatically selects the 3D noise reduction level.
    • Manual: You can manually select the 3D noise reduction level.
  6. If you selected Manual mode, use the NR-3D slider to select the level of 3D noise reduction.
  7. Click Submit.
