Prolog information
With Search Preferences, you can personalize your search experience by choosing the content type that must appear at the top of search results.
As an implementation engineer, if you are installing a suite of products of a release, for example, Avaya Aura Platform 10.1, select Avaya Aura Platform and Release 10.1 in search preferences. When you search content, the page displays the Avaya Aura 10.1 content at the top, and other products and releases follow. This option prevents scrolling a long list of topics to select the content you want to view.
If you select Avaya Aura and Release 10.1 from Filter on the home page, the results page displays only the Avaya Aura 10.1 content.
The following are the differences between search preferences and search facets:
  • Search Preferences: Boosts the search results in your search. Until you change, the selection applies to your subsequent searches.
  • Selected facets: Filters the search results in the current search. The selection applies only to the current search.
Note:
Search Preferences boost the relevant topics towards the top of the list. This option does not hide the topics of other products and releases. The other topics appear at the bottom of the list.
