The following method is used to provide menu strings to Avaya digital phones. For example, 1400 and 9500 Series phones. The strings are transfer to the phone when it starts. Depending on the language, it may also trigger the transfer of display font files.
To limit the memory requirements, the IP Office transfers the language strings in groups based on the setting.

If the user logged onto the phone has their own set, the phone attempts to provide the matching language:

If there is no exact match loaded, the search is performed again using just the first two characters user's locale code.

If there is still no match, the phone uses English.
