The strings used on Avaya feature phones are split into two:

IP Office Strings: These are strings for IP Office features, default button labels, the Features menu and call handling menus.

The language strings can be modified and new IP Office menu languages added if required. See IP Office Phone Language File Customization.

Avaya Menu Strings: These are strings used by the non-IP Office menus on the phone. For example the menus accesses by pressing the A key.
The method by which the strings are loaded onto the phones vary depending on the phone type. See the following sections. The default supported languages are:
