You can connect a modem to the Branch Gateway to enable the configuration from a remote location. You can use a serial modem connected to the Branch Gateway for the modem dial backup feature, which provides a redundant connectivity with a remote primary Media Gateway Controller. Modem dial backup provides better survivability than switching to a secondary Media Gateway Controller because more features are preserved.
