Using a serial cable, it is possible to perform a range of commands on the IP Office system running embedded voicemail. See the Deploying an IP500 V2 IP Office Essential Edition System manual for details of the cable required and the serial port settings.

  • You must use these options with caution. The DTE interface includes options that can erase the IP Office system software and configuration.
  • To exit debug mode after using this process you must reboot the IP Office system.
  1. Connect to the IP Office system using a serial cable.
  2. Enter AT. The IP Office system responds with OK.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    • Note that this command and the others below are case-sensitive.
  3. Enter AT-DEBUG. The IP Office system responds with Hello >.
  4. Enter ivm-help. The IP Office system responds by listing the mailbox and message commands. These are:

    ivm-mbox-show
    Show the details of all mailboxes.
    ivm-mbox-show nnn
    Show the details of the mailbox, where nnn is the extension number.
    ivm-mbox-clear nnn
    Delete all messages, prompts and recordings relating to a mailbox, where nnn is the extension number.
    ivm-msg-del nnn yy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss
    Delete all messages in a specified mailbox, where:
    • nnn is the extension number.
    • yy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss is the date up to which messages are deleted. If you omit the date, all messages are deleted.
    ivm-msg-del-all
    Delete all mailbox messages.
    ivm-status-show
    Show the summary of the embedded voicemail status.
    ivm-tls-show
    Show the current status of SMTP TLS.
    ivm-tls-set Y|N
    Set the current status for STMP TLS.
  5. When you have completed the required mailbox maintenance, enter reboot. This will reboot the IP Office.
