Branch mode allows an IP Office system to act as a branch connected to a central Avaya Aura® Session Manager.
The IP Office is licensed as normal for local extension, trunks, users and applications.
SM lines are used to connect the IP Office to the Avaya Aura® Session Manager and allow calls between the systems.
Selected SIP extensions at the IP Office site can be configured as centralized users.
During normal operation they connect to the Avaya Aura® Session Manager as per their configuration on that system.
During rainy-day scenarios, the centralized users phones connect directly to the IP Office and act as local extension until able to reconnect to the Avaya Aura® Session Manager.
