The IP500 PRI Universal trunk card is available in 1-port and 2-port variants:
  • Each port supports a single PRI circuit connection.
  • The cards can be switched between supporting E1, E1R2, and T1 line types.
  • Each port supports 8 B-channels (Bearer) without needing licenses. Additional B-channels need licensing. D-channels do not need licensing.
  • Channels licenses are consumed by the channels configured as "in service", in order of the installed IP500 PRI-U cards.
  • Trunks configured for Q.SIG operation use voice networking licenses. See IP500 V2 voice networking licenses.
These licenses enable additional T1 B-channels for IP500 PRI-U cards configured for T1 PRI or T1 robbed-bit operation. Each port can support up to 23 B-channels (T1 PRI) or 24 B-channels (T1 robbed bit) in this mode.
