If not using self-avatar support through Avaya cloud services or SSO login, you can enable self-avatar support using Microsoft Exchange Web Services (EWS).
To configure this, in summary:

Add the setting SELF_AVATAR_ENABLED 1 to be added to the settings file (46xxsettings.txt or 46xxspecials.txt) provided to clients.
