Snapshots

Last Updated : Sep 24, 2024 |

A snapshot preserves the disk, memory, and device state of a VM at a specific point in time. You can take a snapshot before a potentially dangerous operation, so you can always go back to it if needed. Snapshots are identified with a unique name and can be taken with the VM running (live snapshots). However, it is highly recommended that snapshots be taken when a VM is suspended or shutdown.
