Using the vSphere Web Client, select the virtual machine. For example, select vCenter and in the navigation tree on the left select the virtual machine.
Right-click the virtual machine, and click Edit Settings.
Under Removable Devices in the Settings window, click the CD/DVD drive to remove
Under Advanced options, click Remove CD/DVD Drive.
