Status Icons

The top lines of the display can include the following icons:

  • Do Not Disturb – This icon indicates that you have do not disturb enabled.

  • Forward Unconditional – This icon indicates that you have forward unconditional enabled.

  • Ringer Quiet – This icon indicates that the ringer volume has been set to zero.

  • Volume Zero – This icon indicates that the call volume (handset, speaker or headset) is set to zero.

  • High Definition Audio – The phone is using a high-definition audio connection.

  • Wi-Fi Connection (J159/J179/J189) – This icon is shown if the phone is connected to the network using Wi-Fi. The number of bars indicates the signal strength.

    • No Connection – This icon indicates a loss of Wi-Fi signal or incorrect password.

  • Bluetooth (J159/J179/J189) – This icon is shown if the phone supports Bluetooth headset connection. See Using Bluetooth Headsets.

    • Headset Connected – A dot within the icon indicates that the Bluetooth headset is connected.

  • Connection Failure – This icon indicates a connection issue.

    • If the phone has lost its connection to the telephone system, then if configured by your maintainer, after a few minutes it use a alternate system. If that is successful, an R (Resilience) is shown in the display.

  • Missed Calls – This icon indicates that you have had missed calls. The number next to the icon indicates the number of different callers. Pressing the button opens your call log at the missed calls display. See Using the Call Log.

Call Log Icons

  • Missed Callers – This icon is shown at the top of the phone display if you have any missed callers. It also shows the number or missed callers or + if more than 9.

  • Outgoing Call – This icon indicates a call log entry for a call that was made by you.

  • Incoming Call – This icon indicates a call log entry for a call answered by you.

  • Missed Call – This icon indicates a call log entry for a call that altered at your phone but wasn't answered there.

Appearance Button Icons

Your appearance buttons can display the following icons. When the icons are shown depends on the phone's display mode. In single-column mode the icons are always displayed. In dual-column mode, the icons are only shown when that button is alerting or being used.

  • Off-Hook/Connected – The appearance button is either being used to make a call or is connected on a call.

  • Call Preservation – There may be an issue with the other telephone system in your network that hosts the user or external trunk to which your call is currently connected. You may not be able to perform other call functions such as hold, park or transfer.

  • Conference Call – The appearance button is connected to a conference call.

  • Alerting – The appearance button has a call alerting.

  • Busy – The internal number you called is busy or not available.

  • Call On Hold/ Conference on Hold – You have an existing call on hold.

  • Call On Hold Pending Transfer/Conference – The call has been put on hold after you pressed Transfer or Conf to start the transfer or conference process.

  • Idle – The appearance button is not in use.

  • Recording – The call is being recorded. The system administrator can disable the display of this icon.

  • Call Disconnected – The far end of the call has disconnected. This may also appear if the system cannot route the number dialed.

Other Icons

Whilst using the volume rocker at the bottom of the dial page to change the ringer volume or caller volume, the following icons indicate which volume you are adjusted:

  • Ringer Volume – This changes to a icon if the volume is set to zero (the same icon then also appears in the status bar as a reminder that the ringer is now silenced).

  • Handset Volume / Headset Volume / Speaker Volume – This changes to if the volume is set to zero (the same icon then also appears in the status bar as a reminder that the device is now silenced).
