1616 phones can support addition units called button modules. For the 1616, this is the BM32 button module.

• Each button module provides the phone with an additional 32 buttons which can be used as appearance buttons and or feature buttons.

• Up to 3 button modules can be attached to the phone. However, the number of button modules supported by the telephone system may be limited by the total number of button modules attached to other phones on the telephone system.

• Do not connect or disconnect a button module yourself. Your system administrator will arrange this if necessary. Failure to connect and restart the equipment in the correct order may cause the phone to not function correctly.

• When used with more than 1 button module, the telephone needs a separate power supply unit.

• The DBM32 button modules used for 1416 phones are not interchangeable with the BM32 button modules used for 1616 phones and vice versa.
