Adding a contact

Prolog information
Use this procedure to add new contacts to Avaya Vantage™ Connect. You can save a new contact as a local contact on the device or a personal contact in the enterprise personal directory.
In the Avaya Aura® environment, the contact is saved as a personal contact on PPM or Avaya Aura® Device Services. In the IP Office environment, a personal contact is saved in the IP Office personal directory. In the BroadSoft communication environment, the personal contact is saved in the BroadSoft personal directory.
Important:
Avaya Vantage™ deletes device contacts when another user logs in to the device. To store device contacts data, enable local data backup and provide a backup account in Settings System Backup.
  1. Tap the Contacts tab.
  2. Tap Add contact icon.
  3. Choose one of the following:
    • Local Contact: To store the contact locally on the device.
    • Enterprise Contact: To add the contact to the Avaya Aura® enterprise or Broadsoft personal directory.
    • Personal Contact: To add the contact to the IP Office personal directory.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Either the Enterprise Contact or Personal Contact option is available depending on the environment in which the device is installed.
  4. In the First Name and Last Name fields, enter the name of the new contact.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    On the K155 device, use the on-screen keyboard to enter letters and other special characters. To enter numerals, you can use either the on-screen keyboard or the integrated keypad on K155.
  5. Do the following to add the phone number of the contact:
    1. Tap Add phone number.
    2. In the drop-down list, select the appropriate phone category.
    3. In the Phone field, enter the phone number.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    You must provide at least one phone number for each contact.
  6. Repeat Step 5 to add more phone numbers for the contact.
  7. Add other information about the contact, such as the job title, company name, and address.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Note:
    When you add a local contact to the standard Contacts area of the device, prefixes, such as Mr and Ms., are not displayed in Avaya Vantage™ Connect.
  8. Tap Done.
    STEP RESULT:
    The application displays the new contacts and their details in the Contacts list.
