On the LSP use the Server Role page to set the LSP topology to Edge. Server Role helps to connect LSP to the main Communication Manager server.
On the SMI page, navigate to Administration Server (Maintenance).
In the Server Configuration section, click Server Role.
In Server settings:
Select the required Server (LSP of non-CM cluster or LSP of CM cluster).
Enter the System ID (SID) and Module ID (MID) values.
In LSP topology configuration, do the following:
Verify that the Serial number of S8300 is displayed.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
You can check the serial number in VMWare ESXi Host Client with version 7.0 update 3 and above under Navigator menu Host section.
Note:
For the serial number to display on the LSP topology configuration, you must install ESXi version 7 update 3d or above on the S8300.
Select LSP topology as Edge.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
When the LSP topology is selected to Edge, the Registration and Synchronization fields are replaced by the Registration URL field.
In the Registration URL field, type the web address of the Communication Manager server or reverse proxy as required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Enter the URL of the reverse proxy and the path to connect to Communication Manager server, in Registration URL using the wss or https schemes.
This URL enables the HTTPS connection from the Local Survivable Processor (LSP) to end on the main Communication Manager. The URL can specify a different port or add a path to enable the reverse proxy to route the request accordingly.
The main Communication Manager will listen for Edge LSP WebSocket connections on TCP port 2940, you need to configure your reverse proxy to forward LSP connections to the Communication Manager procr port 2940.
If there is no proxy then configure the LSP with an URL containing the IP/FQDN of the main Communication Manager server and port 2940 (wss://cm-server_fqdn:2940/).
