You need the following tools and software for the upgrade process. Except for Rufus, you can download the software from the Avaya Support site (https://support.avaya.com).

• IP Office R11.0.4.8 Unified Communications Module ISO file

  The iso file name starts with "c110" followed by the version.

• Avaya USB Creator

  You use this software to create an auto-upgrade USB memory key for a Unified Communications Module.

  • You cannot use Avaya USB Creator for the upgrade process if you are using a USB memory key of 64GB or larger. Instead, use Rufus (see Creating a PC-based server USB upgrade key) with the c110 ISO file.

• IP Office R11.1.3 Unified Communications Module ISO file

  The iso file name starts with "c110" followed by the version.

• 32GB+ USB memory key

  Unified Communications Module upgrades require a USB memory key of at least 32GB.

  • You cannot use Avaya USB Creator for the upgrade process if you are using a USB memory key of 64GB or larger. Instead, use Rufus (see Creating a PC-based server USB upgrade key) with the c110 ISO file.

• HDMI monitor and USB keyboard/mouse

  Whilst the upgrade process runs automatically after the server reboot, it is useful to see the progress. You must connect the monitor, keyboard, and mouse before the Unified Communications Module restarts.
