On devices with a built-in privacy shutter, you can use the shutter to prevent the camera from capturing video. When you close the shutter, the camera is still on but only transmits a black background. The camera LED is also on, indicating that the camera is working.
Procedure
Shift the lever above the camera to the leftmost position to cover the camera entirely with the shutter.
If the shutter does not cover the entire camera, the camera might capture partial video.
To uncover the camera, shift the lever to the rightmost position.
