Syslog Receiver Configuration field descriptions

Name
Description
Profile Name
The name of the Syslog server configuration.
IP/FQDN
The IP address or host name of the Syslog server configuration.
Port
The port number of the Syslog server configuration.
The default port is 514.
Protocol
The type of port used for the Syslog server configuration.
The options are:
  • TCP
  • UDP
When the tcp protocol is selected, the system enables the TLS Authentication option.
TLS Authentication
The option to select if the remote host is TLS based.
When TLS Authentication is selected, the system displays the following options:
  • Server certificate authentication
  • Mutual TLS authentication
When you select TLS Authentication, the port value is 6514.
Server certificate authentication
The server certificate authentication.
This option is available, if TLS Authentication is selected.
Mutual TLS authentication
The mutual certificate authentication.
This option is available, if TLS Authentication is selected.
Button
Description
Add
Displays the Add Syslog Receiver dialog box where you can add the Syslog server configuration.
Edit
Displays the Add Syslog Receiver dialog box where you can edit the configuration of the selected Syslog server.
Delete
Deletes the selected Syslog server configuration.
