You can manually start logging to file if file logging is not already running.

Click the icon. Alternatively, press Ctrl+W.
- The records are logged to file using the settings defined for the log preferences. See Setting the Log Preferences.
- The icon changes that can be used to stop logging. See Stopping File Logging.
