Migrating Session Manager or Branch Session Manager from VMware to ASP R6.0.x (KVM on RHEL 8.10)

About this task

You can migrate Session Manager R8.1.x ASP R5.x (VMware) to Session Manager R8.1.x ASP R6.0 (KVM). Similarly, migrate Branch Session Manager R8.1.x ASP R5.x (VMware) to Branch Session Manager R8.1.x ASP R6.0 (KVM).

When migrating, match the Session Manager version from backup to restore. Perform the backup and restore on the same Session Manager version. Similarly, match the Branch Session Manager version from backup to restore. Perform the backup and restore on the same Branch Session Manager version.

Procedure

  1. Note down the existing VMware details.

  2. Perform prerequisite tasks to migrate Session Manager or Branch Session Manager from VMware to KVM.

  3. Install ASP R6.0.x (KVM on RHEL 8.10).

  4. Deploy Session Manager on KVM host.

  5. Restore Session Manager or Branch Session Manager Backup.
