Enabling IPv6 on the management interface of an Avaya Breeze® platform server

Complete this task to enable IPv6 addresses for the management interface (eth0) on an existing Avaya Breeze® platform server.
Important:
This task is service affecting. Perform these steps during a Service Maintenance window.
Before you begin
  • On System Manager update Avaya Breeze® platform Element Manager to the latest Element Manager release.
  • In the cluster upgrade all Avaya Breeze® platform nodes to Avaya Breeze® platform Release 3.8.1.
  • Have unique IPV6 addresses for all nodes in the cluster. All IP addresses must be in the same subnet.
  • Have the IPV6 address prefix and IPV6 gateway address that can route the IPv6 addresses.
  1. Log in to System Manager as admin.
  2. In System Manager, click ElementsAvaya Breeze®Server Administration.
  3. Select the Avaya Breeze® platform node where you want to assign the IPv6 address to the management interface and click Edit.
  4. In the FQDN or IPv6 Address field under Management Network Interface, enter a unique IPv6 address and click Commit.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    When configuring an IPv6 address, an IPv4 address is also required.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for all Avaya Breeze® platform nodes in the cluster.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    When an IPv6 address is configured on the management interface of an Avaya Breeze® platform node, all Avaya Breeze® platform nodes in the cluster must also have IPv6 addresses.
  6. In System Manager, click ElementsAvaya Breeze®Cluster Administration.
  7. Select the cluster and click Cluster StateDeny New Service to put the cluster in a Deny New Service state.
  8. Remove the Avaya Breeze® platform node from the cluster.
    1. If the node being removed is the Cluster Database active server, it must switch over to standby. Click Show to list the servers in the cluster, and click Standby to promote the standby server to active.
    2. If a Reliable Eventing Group is assigned to the node being removed, edit the group to unassign the node.
      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
      On the Reliable Eventing Administration page, click Dashboard. Edit the reliable eventing group, remove the node from Assigned Brokers, and click Commit.
    3. From the Cluster Administration page, select the cluster, click Edit, and click the Servers tab. Click X to remove the node from the cluster and click Commit.
  9. Log in to the Avaya Breeze® platform node using its IPv4 management IP address and run the CEnetSetup command.
    1. When CEnetSetup shows the option to configure IPv6 addressses, enter the IPv6 address for the eth0 interface.
    2. When prompted by CEnetSetup, provide the IPv6 address network prefix and IPv6 gateway address.
      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
      You also can configure other options that CEnetSetup presents.
    STEP RESULT:
    CEnetSetup makes the necessary configuration changes and reboots the Avaya Breeze® platform node.
  10. After the Avaya Breeze® platform node reboots, log in to System Manager and add the node back into the cluster.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Wait for all services to deploy on the node.
