Hyphen usage comparison for predicate adjectives and compound modifiers

Do not use a hyphen between predicate adjectives. Predicate adjectives complement the subject of the sentence and come after the verb. The noun comes before the adjectives.
Use a hyphen between compound modifiers. Compound modifiers come before the subject (noun) and modify the subject as a unit.
