When the EDM persistence type is set to Journey, the data for context resurrection is cleaned up periodically as a part of a daily External Data Mart (EDM) maintenance job. You can configure the time at which to run the maintenance job using EDM: Run maintenance at hour of ContextStoreManager service attribute. The default is 2 (02:00).
Contexts representing open work requests remain permanently in the EDM database. Closed contacts are kept for a certain period if external features such as Callback Assist or Survey Assist require them. Old or unused contexts for work requests that are closed are removed. The work request is considered closed if the touchpoint status is ContactEnded or CustomerAbandoned.
To configure the duration for which closed contacts are kept in the EDM using EDM: Keep closed contacts for of ContextStoreManager service attribute. The default duration is 30 days. Purging of closed contacts is disabled by setting the time to 0. However, set it to 0 because of performance implications. The value range is 0 to 3650.
The customer journey data remains permanently in the EDM database and is not purged. To delete the customer journey data on SQL Server, use the following script:DeletingOldDataScript.sql
