Enabling Geographic Redundancy replication

Prolog information
Important:
During Geographic Redundancy configuration, the primary System Manager replicates data between primary and secondary System Manager servers. Therefore, ensure that the system maintenance activities such as backup, restore, and shutdown are not in progress.
Before you begin
  • Log on to the primary server's System Manager web console.
  • Ensure that the CLI passwords on primary and secondary System Manager servers are not expired.
  • Geographic Redundancy becomes nonoperational 60 days after the System Manager CLI password expires. You must set a new password on primary and secondary System Manager servers to make Geographic Redundancy operational again.
  1. On the System Manager web console, click ServicesGeographic Redundancy.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The Geographic Redundancy page is displayed.
  2. Click Enable Replication.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The Enable GR replication status section displays the progress information.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Note:
You cannot access the web console as the server becomes unavailable. Wait until the process is complete before you continue with the next step.
Result
  • If the enabling process is successful, the system displays the replication status as Enabled.
  • If the enabling process fails, the system displays an error message with the replication status as Failed. The primary server remains in the failed state while the secondary server rolls back to the previous state.
Next steps
If the enabling process fails, verify if a temporary network connectivity failure alarm is raised. Retry when the network connectivity is restored. If the problem persists, contact Avaya™ service personnel.
