Reinstalling Avaya SBC software from a USB flash device or DVD

Reinstalling the Avaya SBC software deletes all existing data from the server. Any administration done on the system will be deleted.
Important:
Avaya ships the Avaya SBC servers preinstalled with the Avaya SBC software. When you have a server with the preinstalled software, reinstalling the software is not required. Continue with the procedures in the chapter Deploying Avaya SBC and EMS software.
Use this procedure to reinstall Avaya SBC software. This procedure is done using either an installation disc or a USB flash device. You must download the software from the Avaya Support Site using PLDS.
To access the GUI, use the VGA connection on all supported servers.
  1. Do one of the following actions:
    • Insert the Avaya SBC installation USB flash device into the USB port.
      Caution:
      You cannot use the front panel USB ports of the Dell R340 server to install Avaya SBC software. You must use the back panel USB ports.
    • Insert the Avaya SBC installation disc into the DVD drive. If the server does not have internal DVD drive, connect an external DVD device to the USB port and insert the installation disc into the DVD drive.
  2. Reboot the server, ensuring that the boot device is set to DVD or USB. For information about booting servers, see Booting servers.
  3. On the Welcome screen, select Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10.

    Caution:
    Reinstalling the Avaya SBC software deletes all existing data from the server. Any administration done on the system will be deleted.
  4. Press Enter.
  5. Wait until the system creates partitions and installs packages.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    This process might take up to 30 minutes.
  6. Once RPM installation is complete, the system runs post installation scripts and reboots by default.

    Note:
    If the system do not reboot by default, press Enter or check the console messages.
  7. After the system is rebooted, remove the USB flash device or installation disc from the server. A complete reboot is indicated with a display of the first BIOS boot screen.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    The system displays configuration screen and is now ready to be configured. For a multi-server deployment, repeat the task for other servers.
