About this task

Reconfigure the CPU, RAM or Hard Disk resources for the Session Manager virtual machine. The procedure is for the setup in virtualized environment.

Procedure

  1. Connect to the vCenter server or ESXi host using the VMware vSphere web client.
  2. Log in as an administrator
  3. Power off the virtual machine:
    1. In the vSphere client inventory, right-click the required virtual machine and then select Shut Down Guest OS.
    2. Click Yes in the Shutdown Confirmation dialog box.
  4. Right-click the virtual machine name and select Edit Settings.
  5. Navigate to the Virtual Hardware tab.
  6. Under the CPU section, select the appropriate numbers of CPU to match the desired Session Manager profile.
  7. Verify the Reservation is set correctly. The Reservation value must be at least half of the stated minimum MHz requirement because Session Manager capacities assume hyperthreading is active.
  8. If you want to limit the Session Manager CPU use:
    1. Clear the unlimited check box.
    2. Verify the Limit slide is set to the full value of the stated minimum MHz requirement.
  9. Change the Number of sockets according to the limit requirement.
  10. Under the Memory section change the RAM size to the appropriate limit and verify the Reservation is set correctly.
  11. If you want to limit the Session Manager memory use, clear the unlimited check box and verify the Limit slide is set to the same value as the Reservation.
  12. To change the Hard Disk size, do the following:
    1. Delete all virtual machine snapshots.
    2. Expand the Hard Disk section under the Virtual Hardware tab.
