Last Updated : Jun 10, 2026 |

Application Delivery Controller (ADC) is a network device or a set of services that helps optimize the performance, availability, and security of applications by managing and distributing incoming network traffic to multiple servers or resources that host those applications. ADCs can be physical appliances, virtual instances, or software solutions. ADCs are usually integrated with or used in conjunction with load balancers. These devices are commonly deployed in data centers, cloud environments, and content delivery networks to enhance the performance, security, and reliability of applications and services delivered to end-users.
