Creating a snapshot through CLI

Before you begin

Configure the authentication file with ESXi details, see Configuring the authentication file with ESXi detail.

When you configure the authentication file with ESXi detail, Session Manager does not prompt you to provide ESXi details each time you run the vmsnapshot command.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Session Manager command-line interface.
  2. Type the following command:

    vmsnapshot create <Name of the new snapshot>

    For example, vmsnapshot create testsnapshot1

    Important:

    Snapshots occupy the system resources and degrade the performance of the virtual application. Therefore, delete the snapshot after the required Session Manager operation is complete.

    Session Manager creates the snapshot.
