Deploying the Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway OVA using the vCenter Client

You can deploy the Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway Open virtual Appliance (OVA) on the windows machine by using vCenter server of VMware.
Note:
Avaya Cloud Delivery is responsible for downloading and deploying Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway as part of the Avaya Experience Platform™ (On-Prem + Connect) service activation. Customers cannot download Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway from Avaya PLDS.
Before you begin
  • Download the Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway OVA on the Windows machine.
  • The VMware vCenter and ESXi version supported for Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway deployment is 7.0 or 8.0.
  • Ensure to note the vCenter user login details.
  1. To log in to the vSphere Client, go to: https://<VCENTER>/UI
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    The IP address or FQDN of the vCenter server is available at <VCENTER>.
  2. Right-click on the appropriate cluster to deploy the OVA and select Deploy OVF Template.
    STEP RESULT:
    The vSphere Client displays the Deploy OVF Template window.
  3. To download the OVA file, on the Select an OVF template screen, do one of the following:
    • To download from a web location, click URL and enter the complete URL path to the Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway OVA file.
    • To download from the local computer, click Local fileUPLOAD FILES and select the Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway OVA file name from the location where the OVA file is saved.
  4. Click NEXT.
  5. In the left pane, click Select a name and folder.
  6. In the Virtual machine name field, type the virtual machine name.
  7. In the Select a location for the virtual machine area, click the location to save the virtual machine.
  8. Click NEXT.
  9. In the left pane, click Select a compute resource.
  10. In the Select a compute resource area, do the following:
    1. In the Select the destination compute resource for this operation area, click the appropriate ESXi host name.
    2. In the Compatibility area, select Compatibility checks succeeded.
  11. Click NEXT.
  12. In the left pane, click Review details.
  13. In the Review details area, do the following:
    1. In the Publisher field, type Entrust Code Signing CA - OVCS1 (Trusted certificate).
      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
      Ensure to verify the OVA template details.
    2. Click NEXT.
  14. In the left pane, click License agreements.
  15. In the License agreements area, do the following:
    1. Ensure to read the End User License Agreement (EULA).
    2. To accept the EULA, select the I accept all license agreements check box.
    3. Click NEXT.
  16. In the left pane, click Configuration.
  17. In the Configuration area, from the given options, select the appropriate Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway profile.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Note:
    • Profile 1 - Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway deployment with support for up to 200 agents, requires 4 vCPUs and 6 GB memory.
    • Profile 2 - Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway deployment with support for up to 2000 agents, requires 8 vCPUs and 16 GB memory.
  18. Click NEXT.
  19. In the left pane, click Select storage.
  20. In the Select storage area, do the following:
    1. From the Select virtual disk format drop-down list, select the appropriate disk format.
      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
      Note:
      If you select Thick provision, then the system reserves the space for deploying the virtual machine and makes it unavailable for use for other virtual machines.
      If you select Thin provision, then the unused space is available for use for other virtual machines.
      It is recommended that you select Thick provision so that there is no disk space shortage for Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway virtual machine.
    2. In the Datastore table, select the appropriate data store for the virtual machine.
      STEP RESULT:
      The Compatibility area, displays Compatibility checks succeeded message.
    3. Click NEXT.
  21. In the left pane, click Select networks.
  22. In the Select networks area, do the following:
    1. From the Destination Network drop-down list, select the appropriate destination network for each Source Network.
  23. Click NEXT.
  24. In the left pane, click Customize template.
  25. In Enhanced Access Security Gateway (EASG), enter 1 to enable EASG (recommended) or 2 to disable EASG.
  26. In Disk Encryption Settings, enter 1 to enable encryption or 2 to disable encryption.
  27. In Management Network Settings, configure the following network settings such as the IP address, FQDN, network mask, and DNS:
    1. In Enter the IP Address to assign to the VM, enter the IP address for the application interface.
    2. In Enter the FQDN to assign to the VM, enter the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of Linux for the virtual machine.
    3. In Enter the Netmask to assign to the VM, enter a netmask for the application interface.
    4. In Enter the IP Address of your default gateway, enter the default gateway address for this virtual machine.
    5. In Enter the default Search List [Multiple DOMAIN separated by comma], enter a comma separated search list.
  28. In Account login Details, configure user name, password, and group for Linux administrator user profile.
  29. Click NEXT.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Note:
    If you do not provide the details in the mandatory fields, you cannot power on the virtual machine even if the deployment is successful. The vSphere Client displays the number of remaining mandatory settings that you must configure at the top of the Customize template page.
  30. In the left pane, click Ready to complete.
  31. In the Ready to complete area, ensure to review the given configuration details.
  32. Click FINISH.
    STEP RESULT:
    The system deploys the virtual machine.
    Note:
    To initiate the virtual machine and SSH, type the administrator user credentials. Upon first login, the Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway prompts to change the user password. Set a single-user mode password for all future usages.
