CustomerJourneyService is a Context Store snap-in service that you can use to add or update context data that is stored in the Context Store data grid, or retrieve data from External Data Mart (EDM). The CustomerJourney widget uses the API of this service to get customer journey data or update such data.

CustomerJourneyService uses the ContextStoreRest service to interact with data in Context Store. If the Context Store persistence type is set to Audit, CustomerJourneyService uses ContextStoreQuery to retrieve data from the EDM. Context Store version 3.8 onwards, CustomerJourneyService retrieves data from the EDM directly. Therefore, you must configure the EDM connection attributes on CustomerJourneyService.

You can install CustomerJourneyService on a different cluster than the Context Store cluster. If you do so, you must configure the Context Store Cluster Address attribute.
