Setting the GRUB2 boot password

Some environments require that the GRUB2 boot password is set, however, there is no capability to interact with the GRUB2 boot.

Perform the following procedure to configure the GRUB2 boot password.

Procedure

  1. Log in to a Linux® shell using the root or sroot account.
  2. To configure the GRUB2 boot password, type the following command:

    grub2-setpassword

  3. Follow the prompts to configure the password.
