You must gain access to Linux® shells to perform some of the procedures in this document. Use Secure Shell (SSH) to access the Linux® command-line on the Avaya Aura® MS appliance. Use the customer account or support account credentials for SSH log in. The customer account is created during customer server configuration of the Avaya Aura® MS appliance.
The Linux® shell is also accessible through the console. For VMware ESXi hosted virtual appliances, the console is accessed using the VMware management tools: vSphere client, vCenter Web client, or ESXi host web client. See VMware documentation for console access details. For physical appliances, the console is accessed by connecting a monitor and keyboard directly to the physical server.
The system supports a maximum of five simultaneous logins for each user account. The system rejects additional SSH and Putty sessions when five sessions are already logged in.
Note:
To protect the system, the customer account does not have root privileges by default. Avaya has added some root privileges to the customer account using Linux® sudoer aliases. Root privileges are available if you enabled them at the time of deployment.
