Enabling FIPS 140-2 Mode

About this task

Perform the following procedure to enable FIPS 140-2 mode on the Linux® operating system and the Avaya Aura® MS application software.

Before you begin

  • Department of Defense (DoD) approved FIPS 140-2 compliant certificates must be installed prior to configuring FIPS 140-2 mode.

  • FIPS 140-2 compliant ciphers must be configured.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to EM > System Configuration > Network Settings > General Settings.
  2. Click Connection Security.
  3. To enable FIPS 140-2 mode, check the Enable FIPS check box.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Log in to a Linux® shell using the customer account.
  6. To restart the system and apply the change, type the following command: 
    reboot
