Migrating System Manager from VMware to ASP R6.0.x (KVM on RHEL 8.10)

About this task

Use this procedure to migrate System Manager R10.2.x ASP R5.x (VMware) to System Manager R10.2.x ASP R6.0 (KVM on RHEL).

When migrating, ensure to match the System Manager version from backup to restore. Perform the backup and restore on the same System Manager version.

Note:

The Avaya Solutions Platform 6.0 upgrade is a major remaster and reinstall.

Procedure

  1. Note down the existing VMware details.

    For more information, see Obtaining existing VMware details.

  2. Perform prerequisite tasks to migrate System Manager from VMware to KVM.

    For more information, see Prerequisite tasks to migrate System Manager from VMware to ASP R6.0.x (KVM on RHEL 8.10).

  3. Install ASP R6.0.x (KVM on RHEL 8.10).

  4. Deploy System Manager on KVM host.

    For more information, see Deploying Avaya Aura® System Manager in Virtualized Environment.

    Note:

    This step is essential and mandatory.

  5. Install the System Manager patch obtained in step 2.

  6. Restore System Manager Backup.
