Verifying the backup data of System Manager from VMware

About this task

You can verify the backup data of System Manager from VMware. Use this procedure to check the backup data when you have to replace VMware and install KVM on the same server.

Procedure

  1. Deploy System Manager on VMware host.

    For more information, see Deploying Avaya Aura® System Manager in Virtualized Environment.

  2. Log in to System Manager CLI as cust and switch to root.
  3. Run the command # swversion -s, verify if the Application Name, Version and Size are same as in the System Manager on VMware.
  4. Run the script # SMGRPatchdeploy <patch full path> with the System Manager patch path details obtained before backup.
  5. Run the command # swversion, verify System Manager build.
  6. Run the command # EASGStatus, verify if EASG is enabled.
  7. Copy System Manager backup file to the newly deployed System Manager /swlibrary/ location.
  8. Run the command chmod 755 <backup file> to change the backup file permission.
  9. Log in to System Manager web console with the default credentials.

    The credentials for both User ID and Password is admin.

  10. Reset the login password.

  11. Restore backup.

    For more information, see Restoring data backup from a local server.

  12. Log in to System Manager web console and verify the restored configuration details.

    Ensure the data is not corrupt. If the data is corrupt, repeat steps 1 through 11.
