Restoring System Manager backup on ASP R6.0.x (KVM on RHEL 8.10)

Procedure

  1. Log in to System Manager CLI with cust and switch to root.
  2. Run the command # swversion -s, verify if the patch details match the backup details.
  3. Run the command # swversion, verify if the System Manager build matches the backup.
  4. Copy System Manager backup file to the newly deployed System Manager /swlibrary/ location.
  5. Run the command chmod 755 <backup file> to change the backup file permission.
  6. Log in to System Manager web console with the default credentials.
  7. Reset the login password.

  8. Restore backup.

    For more information, see Restoring data backup from a local server.

  9. Log in to System Manager web console and verify the restored configuration details.
    Note:

    The restoration process restores the admin password to the details that was on VMware machine. Use the credentials accordingly.

    Migration is completed.

  10. If System Manager was in the Geographic Redundancy mode, deploy the secondary System Manager and configure Geographic Redundancy.
