Creating a snapshot backup using the VMware vCenter or vSphere client

  1. Log in to the VMware vCenter or the VMware vSphere client.
  2. Select the virtual machine:
    • On the vSphere client, right-click the virtual machine and select Snapshot Take Snapshot.
    • On the vCenter client, click Inventory Virtual Machine Snapshot Take Snapshot.
  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the snapshot.
  4. In the Description field, enter a description for the snapshot.
  5. Disable Snapshot the virtual machine’s memory.
  6. Enable Quiesce guest file system (Needs VMware Tools installed).
  7. Click OK.
    STEP RESULT:
    The system displays Completed to indicate that the snapshot backup is complete.
