With the Server-initiated update feature, you can get a notification from the SIP server when there is a new software or file available on the file server. The Server-initiated update feature is disabled by default. To enable this feature, you must set the ENABLE_OOD_RESET_NOTIFY parameter to 1.
When the phone receives a SIP NOTIFY message about available updates, the phone compares the firmware version in the J100Supgrade.txt file on the file server with the current version installed. If the file server has the latest firmware, the phone reboots and upgrades.
If there is an updated settings file on the server, the phone downloads the files to apply the new settings. Depending on the parameters that change, the phone logs out the current user or reboots. If there are active calls or other transmissions, the phones apply the new settings when the status is idle.
The Status tab in the web interface displays the date and time of the last update.
