Upgrading Omnichannel HA Servers

About this task

You must update HA and Omnichannel Database servers in the following order:

  1. Take a snapshot of primary server on vCenter for failure upgrading.

  2. Upgrade Standby server

  3. Perform Switchover

  4. Upgrade Standby server (previously the Primary server)

  5. Perform Switchover

Before you begin

Ensure that the High Availability servers are operational.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Omnichannel standby server, do the following:
    1. Right-click the OCEANA_x.x.xxx.iso.
    2. Click Mount.
    3. Run AvayaReleasePackInstaller.exe.
    4. If the installer prompts for server restart, click Yes and repeat step (a) though step (c).
    5. Click Next.
    6. Click Accept on license agreement.
    7. Click Restart.
  2. Log on to the Omnichannel standby server, do the following:
    1. Start Oceana Data Management Tool.
    2. Go to the OCEANA_INSTALL_DIR\Avaya\Oceana\MMDatamanagement folder.
    3. Double click the OceanaDataManagementTool.exe file.
    4. In the Oceana Data Management Tool, click Backup and Restore.
    5. In the navigation pane, click Backup and Restore
    6. In the content pane, click Mirror Configuration.
    7. Select the Switchover Cache up on both servers – Backup server.
    8. Click Execute and wait for the script to complete.
    9. Click Ok.
  3. Log on to the Omnichannel Primary Server, do the following:
    Note:

    This server is now running as a Standby server.

    1. Using the Cache Cube in the system tray start Cache.
    2. Right-click the OCEANA_x.x.xxx.iso.
    3. Click Mount.
    4. Run AvayaReleasePackInstaller.exe.
    5. If the installer prompts for server restart, click Yes and repeat step (c) though step (e).
    6. Click Next.
    7. Click Accept on license agreement.
    8. Click Restart.
  4. Log on to the Omnichannel Primary server (running as standby server now), do the following:
    1. Start Oceana Data Management Tool.
    2. Go to the OCEANA_INSTALL_DIR\Avaya\Oceana\MMDatamanagement folder.
    3. Double click the OceanaDataManagementTool.exe file.
    4. In the Oceana Data Management Tool, click Backup and Restore.
    5. In the navigation pane, click Backup and Restore.
    6. In the content pane, click Mirror Configuration.
    7. Select the Switchover Cache up on both servers – Backup server.
    8. Click Execute and wait for the script to complete.
    9. Click Ok.
  5. Upgrade the DR Omnichannel server if installed.
    1. Log on to the Omnichannel DR server.
    2. Right-click the OCEANA_x.x.xxx.iso.
    3. Click Mount.
    4. Run AvayaReleasePackInstaller.exe.
    5. If the installer prompts for server restart, click Yes and repeat step (a) though step (g).
    6. Click Next.
    7. Click Accept on license agreement.
    8. Click Restart.
