Server Edition supports similar features to Preferred Edition, but uses Linux-based IP Office servers.
Configure the first Linux-based server as the primary server for the network.
Configure an additional Linux-based server as a secondary server for the network.
Computers or virtualized servers are Linux-based.
You can add further servers to the network as expansion servers. These can be Linux-based servers and IP500 V2 control units. Using the IP500 V2 enables the network to include non-IP extensions and trunks.
Each server in a Server Edition network requires a Server Edition license. That includes licenses for the primary server, secondary server, and each expansion system, including IP500 V2 expansion systems.
In addition to the Server Edition licenses listed in the table, the Server Edition system might require additional trunk, IP extension, user, and voicemail licenses depending on the required capacity. Each Virtual Server needs a Virtual Server Edition license, and a Hardware Server can run with a Virtual Server license.
