Mounting Branch Gateway in the rack

About this task

You can mount the Branch Gateway in a standard 19-inch rack. If the rack has another equipment installed, place Branch Gateway so as to prevent imbalance.

An empty Branch Gateway weighs under 11 lb (5 kg) and between 13 and 14 lb (between 6 and 7 kg) when equipped with the media modules. An empty EM200 weighs under 11 lb (5 kg) and between 12 and 13 lb (between 5 and 6 kg) when equipped with media modules.

Before you begin

  • Ensure that the Branch Gateway power supply is disconnected.

  • Ensure that the rack is bolted to the floor and is earthquake-protected, if required.

  • Attach mounting brackets.

Procedure

  1. Place the Branch Gateway in the rack.

    Ensure that there is enough space for ventilation.

  2. Ensure that the screw holes are aligned with the rack hole positions.
  3. Insert four rack mounting screws, two on each side.
  4. Ensure that the Branch Gateway is level.
  5. Tighten the rack mounting screws.

    Do not over-tighten the screws.
