Creating an AIDE baseline database

Last Updated : Jun 29, 2020 |
Prolog information
Advanced Intrusion Detection Environment (AIDE) is a tool for monitoring file system changes. AIDE creates a baseline database of operational system and Avaya Aura® Device Services files and then verifies the integrity of the files by comparing the database to the actual state of the system files. On Avaya Aura® Device Services, you can manage AIDE using the fsit.sh system layer script.
Use this procedure to create a baseline database. The database creation process can take up to 50 minutes depending on the system data.
After the database is created, you can start running AIDE scans periodically. For more information, see AIDE tool management procedures in Administering Avaya Aura® Device Services.
Before you begin
Install Avaya Aura® Device Services.
  1. Log in to the virtual machine with the deployed Avaya Aura® Device Services OVA as an administrator.
  2. Run the following command to navigate to the fsit.sh script location:
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    cd /opt/Avaya/bin
  3. Run the following command to create an AIDE database in the background:
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    sudo ./fsit.sh -updateDB &
Creating the database as a background process enables you to perform other tasks at the same time.
Result
AIDE creates the baseline database and records the results in the /var/log/aide/aide_update_status.log file. You can view the status using the sudo /opt/Avaya/bin/fsit.sh -status command.
