Prolog information
The Elastic load balancer distributes incoming traffic between Avaya Aura® Device Services nodes. In cluster deployments, you must create the following two Elastic load balancers:
  • For Avaya Aura® Device Services nodes.
  • For the Utility Server.
Before you begin
  1. Repeat the following steps to create an Elastic load balancer for Avaya Aura® Device Services nodes and an Elastic load balancer for Utility Server nodes.
  2. On the Amazon Web Services Management console, navigate to Services EC2 Load Balancers.
  3. Click Create Application Load Balancer.
  4. On the Configure Load Balancer page, configure the settings as follows:
    1. In Name, type a name of your choice.
    2. In Scheme, select Internal.
    3. In IP address type, select ipv4.
    4. In Listener, add listeners for each load balancer as follows:

    5. In VPC, select the Virtual Private Cloud that you are using for your deployment.
    6. In Availability Zones, select the subnet that you configured for all nodes in the cluster.
  5. On the Configure Security Settings page, do the following:
    1. In Certificate Type, select Choose a certificate from ACM and then select the certificates that you prepared for the Avaya Aura® Device Services and Utility Server FQDNs.
    2. In Security Policy, select ELBSecurityPolicy-TLS-1-2-2017-01.
  6. On the Configure Security Groups page, in Assign a security group, select Select an existing security group and then select a security group as follows:
    • For the Avaya Aura® Device Services load balancer, select the Avaya Aura® Device Services load balancer security group that you created.
    • For the Utility Server load balancer, select the Utility Server load balancer security group that you created.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
For more information, see Creating security groups.
  7. On the Configure Routing page, configure routing as follows:
    1. In Target, select Existing target group.
    2. In Name, select the target groups that you created as follows:
      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
      • For the Avaya Aura® Device Services load balancer, select the target group for Avaya Aura® Device Services nodes for port 443.
In Creating target groups, this is the Target group for Avaya Aura® Device Services nodes #1 group.
      • For the Utility Server load balancer, select the target group for Utility Server nodes for port 8468.
In Creating target groups, this is the Target group for Utility Server nodes #1 group.
For more information about the target groups, see Creating target groups.
  8. On the Register Targets page, click Next: Review.
  9. Click Create.
  10. Repeat the previous steps to create all required load balancers.
  11. On the Load Balancers page, select the load balancer for Avaya Aura® Device Services nodes that you have just created and then do the following:
    1. In the Listeners table, select a listener with the HTTPS : 8445 listener ID and then click Edit.
      STEP RESULT:
Amazon Web Services displays the Settings page for the listener.
    2. In Default Actions, click the Edit icon for the Forward to action.
    3. In Select a target group, select the target group for Avaya Aura® Device Services nodes for port 8445.
      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
In Creating target groups, this is the Target group for Avaya Aura® Device Services nodes #2 group.
    4. Click Update.
  12. On the Load Balancers page, select the load balancer for Utility Server nodes that you have just created and then do the following:
    1. In the Listeners table, select a listener with the HTTPS : 443 listener ID and then click Edit.
      STEP RESULT:
Amazon Web Services displays the Settings page for the listener.
    2. In Default Actions, click the Edit icon for the Forward to action.
    3. In Select a target group, select the target group for Utility Server nodes for port 443.
      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
In Creating target groups, this is the Target group for Utility Server nodes #2 group.
    4. Click Update.
