Prolog information
You can allow additional ports through the server firewall in Avaya Aura® Device Services 10.x releases.
Before you begin
In OVA-based deployments, contact Avaya support personnel to configure the root password. Avaya Aura® Device Services does not have root access by default in OVA-based deployments.
  1. Log in to the Avaya Aura® Device Services CLI as follows:
    • In OVA-based deployments, log in as an administrator and then switch to the root user using the following command:
      su root
    • In software-only deployments, log in as the root user.
  2. Open the /etc/nftables/aads-rules.nft file in a text editor.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
For example, to open the file in vi, run the following command:
    vi /etc/nftables/aads-rules.nft
  3. In the inet filter section, in the chain INPUT_direct text block, add the following entry for each port:
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: tcp dport <port_no> counter packets 0 bytes 0 accept
In this command, <port_no> is the allowed port.
For example, to open port 3268, add the following entry:
tcp dport 3268 counter packets 0 bytes 0 accept
  4. Save the /etc/nftables/aads-rules.nft file.
  5. Run the following command:
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: systemctl restart nftables
