New features and enhancements in the Avaya Proactive Outreach Manager Release 4.1

Load Monitoring Service

A new Load Monitoring service is introduced to monitor the load of the POM system. When the load exceeds the defined threshold, restrictions are imposed on the execution of some of the heavy operations of the system, such as imports, reports, and purges. This guards POM from breaking, and it also reduces the impact on POM especially during production.

System alarms are raised to notify the user about the load situation for timely remediation.

Dynamic guardrails

Dynamic guardrails are introduced in this release to protect POM from any failure, ensuring smooth operations during production. When the POM system is under heavy load, POM imposes guardrails on the operations that are resource intensive. As the POM system load reduces, the restrictions are removed.

guardrails are applied to the following POM operations:

  • Contact list imports and uploads: Simultaneous running of multiple imports or uploads of contact lists is restricted. The count of contact list imports or uploads that can run in parallel varies based on the amount of load on the POM system. The higher the load, the higher the restriction and the lesser the number of imports and uploads that are allowed to run simultaneously.

  • Count of records for import and uploads: The count of records allowed for imports or uploads varies based on the load of the POM system. The higher the load, the higher the restriction, and the lesser the number of imports and uploads allowed.

  • POM reports: All the POM reports are disabled if the POM system is under high load.

  • Purge schedule: The current iteration of the scheduled purge is skipped when POM system is under high load.

System Restrictions Widget on POM Home Page

A new System Restrictions widget is introduced that displays the restrictions that are imposed based on the POM system load. This is a smart widget on the POM Home page, which is displayed when the current system load of POM exceeds the predefined threshold.

Smart Notification Widget Enhancement

The Smart Notification widget is enhanced to introduce the alert for purge operations. A notification is displayed if the last scheduled purge did not complete.

Records filtering improvement

Filtering of records is improved and is faster than before. If the pause dialing during contact selection option is selected, the filtration speed is the highest.

Database Reindexing

A POM admin or POM super admin can rebuild POM database indexes. Indexes are required to be rebuilt periodically according to the Avaya recommended ideal frequency. Database reindexing improves the overall performance of POM.

Reindexing is best performed during maintenance hours and should never be done during business hours to ensure the POM system stability.

Removal of POM Cache and POM Monitor

The POM Monitor and POM Cache Service have been deprecated and are no longer available to use from this release.
