Name

Description

Session Manager

The list of administered Session Manager instances. Clicking the link displays the Session Manager Administration page.

Type

The type of Session Manager instance. The options are:

  • Core

  • BSM

Topology

If Enable Edge Topology is enabled on the Global Settings page, Session Manager displays the Topology column.

Specifies the type of the Session Manager or Branch Session Manager edge topology configuration. The options are:

  • EnterpriseFor Session Manager in an enterprise configuration.

  • EdgeIf a SIP Entity is of type Edge Core or Edge Branch.

Tests Pass

The current results for periodic maintenance tests.

  • Green indicates the tests passed.

  • Red indicates at least one test failed.

  • Limited Connection indicates whether Session Manager or Branch Session Manager is in the Maintenance Mode service state. Clicking the link displays the Maintenance Tests page.

  • No Connection indicates a failing network connection between System Manager and Session Manager or Branch Session Manager.

Alarms

The number of active Major/Minor/Warning alarms. Clicking the link displays the Alarming page.

Security Module

The state of the Security Module. The state can be:

  • Up

  • Down

  • --- (unknown)

Clicking the link displays the detailed summary page of the selected security module.

Service State

The current service state of Session Manager. The options are:

  • Accept New Service

  • Deny New Service

  • Maintenance Mode

Region

Displays the region name with which this Session Manager instance is associated.

Note:
  • Dashboard populates the Region column if you enable policy-based communication feature on the Global Settings page.

  • Region column is not applicable for a Branch Session Manager. The region column for a Branch Session Manager is always (---).

Load Factor

The load factor of the administered Session Manager or Branch Session Manager. The field displays the current/last hour peak/last 24-hour peak load factor. Clicking the link displays the Session Manager Load Factor page.

Note:

The last hour and 24-hour peak load factor for a Branch Session Manager is always unknown (---).

Entity Monitoring

The monitoring status of the administered Session Manager instances. The field displays the number of entities with connection problems/the total entities. Clicking the link displays the Session Manager Entity Link Connection Status page.

Note:

Entity Monitoring does not apply to a Session Manager that is administered as a Branch Session Manager. The monitoring status of a Branch Session Manager is always unknown (---).

Active Call Count

The current number of active calls for the administered Session Manager instances. Clicking the link displays the Call Counts page.

Registrations

The current registration summary and the maximum number of registrations in the last 24 hours. Clicking the link displays the Registration Summary page.

Push Notifications

The current number of push notifications for the administered Session Manager instances. The field displays average activations per hour in the last 24 hours/notifications in last hour/notifications in last day/notification errors in last day. Clicking the link displays the Push Notification Performance page.

Note:
  • Dashboard populates the push notification counts if you enable the mobile push notification feature on the Global Settings page.

  • Push notification counts are shown only for a Core Session Manager. The push notification counts for a Branch Session Manager is shown as (---).

Data Replication

The replication status for the replica node.

  • Green indicates synchronized.

  • Red indicates not synchronized.

  • A warning symbol indicates that the system cannot match the Session Manager management hostname with the Replica Node Host Name on the Replication page.

This error indicates a mismatch between the Session Manager configuration for the Replica Node Host Name and the information System Manager receives from a DNS lookup.

Clicking the symbol displays the Replica Groups page.

User Data Storage Status

The status of the user data storage.

  • Green indicates the User Data Storage Sanity Test passed.

  • Red indicates the test failed. Clicking the symbol displays a detailed status report on the User Data Storage Status page.

Note:

The User Data Storage Status displays – – for:

  • Branch Session Manager instances.

  • A Session Manager instance running a release earlier than 6.3.8.

License Mode

Status of the Session Manager or Branch Session Manager license. The status can be:

  • Normal The license is valid and no errors are detected.

  • Error The license is not accessible or does not exist. The system displays the time remaining in the 30–day grace period.

  • Restricted The 30–day grace period has expired. Session Manager or Branch Session Manager, if operational, is now in the Deny New Service state.

Clicking the link displays the WebLM Home page.

Enhanced Access Security Gateway (EASG)

Status of Session Manager EASG. The status can be:

  • Enabled — EASG is installed and is enabled for Avaya Service access.

  • Disabled — EASG is installed but is disabled for Avaya Service access.

  • Removed — EASG is removed from Session Manager. To enable EASG access, Session Manager must be reinstalled.

  • --- — EASG status for Session Manager is not retrievable or is not applicable for the current version of Session Manager.

Profile

Displays the capacity profile of a Session Manager or Branch Session Manager machine.

Version

The version of the installed Session Manager software. Clicking a version string link displays the Session Manager Version Inventory page.

Status Last Updated

Displays the time when the Session Manager or Branch Session Manager data was last updated in the row.

Hover over the time to view the full date and timestamp when the data was last updated.

Button

Description

Service State > Deny New Service

Blocks incoming calls for the selected Session Manager or Branch Session Manager instances. Leave active calls connected.

Note:

In the Deny New Service mode, the system denies any new call attempts and service requests. SAL agent is restarted, and monitoring is re-enabled. The Deny New Service mode can deny selected entity links during a planned WAN outage.

Service State > Accept New Service

Accepts incoming calls for the selected Session Manager instances.

Service State > Maintenance Mode

Places the selected Session Manager instances in the Maintenance Mode state.

Note:

In Maintenance mode, the SAL agent stops working, and monitoring is disabled. Maintenance mode does not support GUI-based operations and alarms generation. Maintenance mode supports the repair or upgrade of the existing Session Manager and Branch Session Manager.

Shutdown System > Shutdown

Shuts down the selected Session Manager server.

Shutdown System > Reboot

Reboots the selected Session Manager server.

EASG > Enable EASG

Enables EASG for the selected Session Manager.

Note:

Enable or Disable EASG is also supported when Session Manager is in Maintenance Mode, and Session Manager is currently displaying Limited Connection status.

EASG > Disable EASG

Disables EASG for the selected Session Manager.

Note:

Enable or Disable EASG is also supported when Session Manager is in Maintenance Mode, and Session Manager is currently displaying Limited Connection status.

Clear Logs

Clears trace and error logs on demand for selected Session Manager and Branch Session Manager

Note:
  • On-demand log clearing requests will not be made to Session Managers and Branch Session Managers in maintenance mode, or are part of a Geographic Redundancy configuration and are not managed by the current System Manager.

  • On using this option, the administrator gets a prompt for entering the number of retention days (between 1–180) beyond which logs will be purged. The default value will be the same as given in the Log Retention (days) field on the Global Settings page. However, the administrator can change the value as needed.

As of

Displays the time when the Session Manager dashboard was last updated.

RefreshRefresh icon

Refreshes the data in the table. Depending on your requirements, you can refresh all or only the required rows of the table to load the latest values.

  • Refresh the entire table: Without selecting any check box click the Refresh icon.

  • Refresh the selected rows of the table: Select the check box of the required rows and click the Refresh icon.

  • Refresh all rows of the current page: Select the Current Page Row check box and click the Refresh icon.
